A rotation is a circular movement of an object around a center of rotation. A three-dimensional object rotates always around an imaginary line called a rotation axis. In 2008, when my twins were born, I moved my studio outside. I started this project by building a hand powered rotating easel, that I could spin flat or stand up and spin. I would apply the paint with the canvas lying flat then spin it. Sometimes I would throw the paint at the canvas while it was spinning. The paint would splatter off in any direction up to 25 feet. My process started off with circular motions and evolved in to straight lines and patterns. The rotation arm table was disassembled and this series was completed in 2014.
